Power Ring Film Capacitor patented technology offers industry-leading power density and ESL/ESR performance in a compact package. These products are designed for long-term exposure to elevated temperatures, continuous thermal cycles, and transportation vibration.

EVALUATION PARTS WITH THERMOCOUPLES

All of the above parts can be shipped with embedded Thermocouples (TC)s for direct measurement as powered. TCs are of type K and have 3ft leads.

UNIVERSAL BUSBARS

Universal Busbars are designed to connect an Advanced Conversion Power Ring Film Capacitor to some of the industry’s leading Si and SiC “half bridge” switching devices. The universal bus bars offer a low inductance solution for anyone looking to interface an Advanced Conversion Power Ring into their system.

Note that even lower inductance solutions are possible with customized Integrated Solutions.

Hitachi road packDC Link Capacitor for Hitachi RoadPakTM

Advanced Conversion is now offering an optimized DC link for easy evaluation of the Hitachi RoadPakTM module. This fully integrated DC link with a laminated bus provides optimal connection directly to the half-bridge modules and DC input. Features include:

  • Low inductance (<6nH) allows for fast switching.
  • Low ESR (600μOhm nominal) for minimized capacitor losses.
  • 900V rating supports up to 250kW inverter applications.

Cissoid SiC Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs)

700A360 CissoidTogether with NAC Semi, Advanced Conversion has created a series of high-performance DC Link Capacitors that mechanically integrate into the Cissoid SiC Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs). These capacitors offer low ESL and low ESR for fast-switching SiC transistors and for high power density. They also come with the option to mount the devices flexibly onto the IPM.

INFINEON 6 PACK MODULE TEST KITS

Power Ring Test Kits are available for different Power Ring part numbers and with high-performance bus structure and adapter plate for popular IGBT modules from Infineon, Semikron, Fuji, Danfoss, Microsemi, OnSemiconductor, Hitachi, ABB, Cissoid. ESL presented to the switch module terminals is typically 6 – 8 nH.

STANDARD BOX CAP REPLACEMENT

Advanced Conversion is now offering replacements for many types of “box capacitors” for High Voltage DC Link and Pulse Capacitors.

Using our well-known ring capacitor approach, the product offering fits on the same footprint as many popular capacitor offerings and has the same terminal connection system. But it offers the following benefits to the traditional box cap approach:

    • Lighter weight
    • Higher pulse capability
  • Longer life
  • Lower Trise in the DC Link application
  • Usually a shorter lead time of 15 – 20 weeks
  • Usually lower prices due to lower manufacturing costs

PULSED POWER

Pulse PowerThe Power Ring’s patented technology offers extreme energy storage/pulse power density in an innovative smaller package that allows for modularity and mounting flexibility.

This dry film, environmentally clean technology, is designed with terminals/interconnect systems that result in the lowest available ESL and peak discharge currents in excess of 250,000 amps.
